The university requires all inbound shipments to the campus or satellite location sent by suppliers and other parties to be managed by and the responsibility of the supplier until the goods are delivered to the UC Merced Central Receiving Location or other designated satellite location. This ensures the supplier is responsible for managing the complexities of shipping, manages all customs clearance, ensures the goods reach the university, and is responsible for any risk of loss should the shipment not reach the campus.
Deliveries to the Castle facility are also directed to central receiving at 5200 Lake Road so shipments can be consolidated and delivered to castle by our logistics team. Most other satellite locations are authorized to directly receive deliveries and are managed by the department(s) who manage those locations.
